Local pour · checked 2026-09-03

St. Pete drinks like a waterfront town that never left the dock. The local pour is a Gulf oyster and a local draft, then a BOGO margarita. Both halves have a street: oysters lean Central Avenue, drafts lean the airport tarmac and Gulfport — and Beach Drive watches the bay while you drink.

The oyster hour

Grand Central runs on bivalves. The Oyster Bar at 2245 Central Ave posts Happy Hour $5-$6 Every day from 4PM to 6PM $5 Wines & $6 Specialty Cocktails & Martinis, plus Aphrodisiac Hour $1 4 PM to 5 PM - $1 House Oyster's, and Tuesday $8 Espresso Martini Night. Hours on the same page are Monday Closed, so the everyday lines run the days the room is open. Dollar oysters from 4 to 5, then $6 martinis to 6 — that is the whole evening, priced.

Local drafts by the runway

The Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge at 540 1st Street South posts Happy Hour 3:00 PM–6:00 PM on weekdays overlooking the Albert Whitted tarmac. Tuesday through Friday the same board prints Happy Hour! Local Draft $5.00 | Well Cocktails $5.00 | House Wines $5.00, and Tuesday also prints Wine Down Tuesday - Half off Wine Bottles. Monday's listing names Happy Hour 3:00 PM–6:00 PM without those dollar lines — window only to start the week. Florida backs this pour statewide: the Florida Brewers Guild is the nonprofit trade association for all craft brewers throughout the state, and its members stock the draft lines these rooms discount.

Gulfport's Habit Hour, then a BOGO margarita

Stella's at 2914 Beach Blvd. S., Gulfport, posts $6 Bar Bites Everyday (2pm-6pm) — Pierogies (3) $6.00, Chicken Wings (5) $6.00, Loaded Sidewinder Fries $6.00 — and Habit Hour Drink Specials Monday - Friday (2pm-6pm) with Domestic Beers $3.00. Nutrl Seltzer and House Wine sit on that list without a dollar amount next to them, so don't quote a price for those. Back on the mainland, Grand Hacienda at 399 11th Ave N posts Happy Hour Monday–Friday 2pm–6pm: buy one, get the second free per person on small house margaritas, small house wine, and small domestic draft beer.

How to drink it like a local

  • Afternoon: $6 bites and $3 domestics in Gulfport (Stella's), daily 2–6 PM; Habit Hour drinks Monday–Friday 2–6 PM.
  • Four o'clock: $1 oysters 4–5 PM then $5 wines and $6 martinis to 6 PM on Central Avenue (Oyster Bar, closed Monday).
  • Runway view: $5.00 local drafts Tuesday–Friday 3–6 PM (Hangar); half-off bottles on Wine Down Tuesday.
  • Two-for-one: BOGO small house margaritas Monday–Friday 2–6 PM (Grand Hacienda).

Windows and prices move — confirm on the venue's own page via Deals or On now before you go. Home-bar versions of the margarita and the espresso martini are measured out in six cocktail recipes.
